What a magical elephant
Nov 2021 • Friends
We were in the RSC on that grim night in March 2020 when the theatres had to close. I shed a tear then in sympathy for the staff and an uncertain future, then cried again last night after a wonderful night with the elephant! I'm normally a cynic, happier with handmaids than romcoms and yet I loved the play, loved the theatre, loved the rooftop restaurant and loved the friendly helpful staff
Cannot wait to return again soon to cute Stratford

Magicians elephant
Oct 2021 • Couples
Been to this theatre many times. Extremely well laid out with good accessibility. However disabled viewers would only be able to sit in the Stalls as the teirs are really narrow to walk along.

Lots of families there, so quite a bit of noise e.g crisps, sweets but you could sense their excitement of seeing the elephant!!

I wondered if we ever would, think it was near the interval that we finally got to see it. Excellent job of building such a realistic puppet.

Drinks, ice cream and of course the shop.

The elephant in the room!
Nov 2021
Here for the Magicians Elephant and despite the good reviews it just didn’t work for me. A rather dark tale and a slow start with uninspiring songs set the scene for act one. Some highlights but happy to get to the interval. Things do improve second half and the staging and the elephant itself are excellent. A few outstanding performances but as a whole nah. My seat on front row of circle very good.
However a special mention for the staff, a more charming, efficient and welcoming bunch would be hard to find.

My husband and I went to watch Comedy of Errors in the outdoor theatre with friends and it was brilliant.

Very impressed at safety precautions they put in place and staff are efficiently and friendly.

A fantastic space and would definitely return.

Visit to open air theatre
Sep 2021
Visited the out door theatre on Fri 24th Sep. Very impressed. The show was fantastic, acting brilliant as always. The venue was great. Lovely to be by the river and the weather was kind to us. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and everyone seemed relaxed.
We had a meal first at the roof top restaurant which was a bit pricey but the food was delicious, service good and views from the restaurant brilliant.

Fantastic venue, show & staff

We watched The Comedy of Errors at the outdoor theatre. The staff were fantastic & was always there to tell you where to go for the bathroom, drinks, etc. We absolutely loved every minute of the show and will be back to watch the next show in November. Would highly recommend as going to the show really made our trip to Stratford-upon-Avon.

Theatre at its best!
Sep 2021 • Couples
A long awaited visit to one of our favourite places! How wonderful to see the new open air theatre which has been created during the pandemic. We saw a matinee performance of Comedy of Errors which was truly funny and memorable. The cast were outstanding with several understudies stepping into main roles due to COVID restrictions. The energy and camaraderie of the ensemble shone through. The front of house staff deserve a mention too as they were warm and welcoming and worked hard to accommodate everyone’s needs on what turned out to be one of the hottest afternoons of the year! So good to see great theatre again - thanks to all involved in this brilliant production.

Thank you!

Yesterday evening we saw 'A Comedy of Errors' at the RSC's new outdoor theatre. It was excellent and a great return to seeing live theatre again. I loved the fact that it worked so well with actors from diverse backgrounds.

Also we can't praise the Front of House staff enough. One of our party, an elderly lady, overcome by the heat, unfortunately fainted during the interval . However, I'm happy to report though the lady has made a full recovery.

So great memories not only of an excellent performance but the lovely people front of house.

Three visits in 2018/ 2019Awful on every occasion visited.

Smug , woke productions be it casting, set, or directions. The acting was below the standard of the average school play, save for the "older" actors who could be heard and understood and without melodramatic constant waving of arms and hands, all of this spoiling the great man's plots and words . Overpriced refreshments and gifts. Without the huge subsidy, school children and tourists this venue would fail. Past its sell by date.
