Jumped in for a quick drink en route to the Metro Arena and it initially appears quite quirky and unusual with various different drinking areas. Drinks were a bit pricey but what really lets this place down is the lack of seated areas and the quality of them. Maybe it's a standing only pub but the couches we tried were... More

Hahahaha Gotham Town, you silly old scamp. It is what it is my babies. Yes you will stick to the floor, and no it's not clean, but the place has character and you'll have a good night if you like alternative/metal music and love cheap drinks. It's just a fun place, with mad decor, sort of like Geiger and Tim... More

As we were choking for a pint after a long train journey, we popped in here for a quick pint. What can I say ? Smelly, sticky floors , dirty tables, broken seats... simply a dive. The only reason it got 2 * was the barman and pint were decent. Avoid if you can.

... Then maybe you will also like the cheap vodka and unclean toilets. The drinks are cheap and the bar is falling to bits! I wouldn't recommend it

Great bar with cheap drinks and brilliant music, one of the few places in Newcastle where you can dance around to The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Pulp, The Libertines, Led Zeppelin etc. Often filled with students pre-drinking but there's always a mix of ages. It's open til 1am every day - it can get very crowded on a Saturday. I... More

If you like a good varied indie music club then this is a must visit. Very smelly inside and you stick to the carpets. Vodka thats tastes like turps. Beer flat as. But you expect that from the type of bar it is. Great music though.

This place has the Best Music in town...of all Era's. Frequented mainly by students as the drinks are cheap but worth a visit. It's Battered and Bruised inside, smells a bit Funky, you stick to the floors and the toilets later in the evening are a scene of Carnage. Love this place, Good Music, Good Drinking and a Good Vibe.... More

Me and a few friends came in here for a drink while waiting for a train home. It was my partner's turn to pay. He asked if he could pay by card (as he never carries any money) but the person behind the bar said no cash only (lucky I had some). After searching for 5 minutes, I eventually found... More

This place is the heart and soul of Newcastle and blows the so called 'Diamond Strip' out of the water. Great alternative music at night and jukebox during day. Starting to look a bit ropey with sticky floors but the music and clientele make up for it. 2 different strangers saw I was a bit worse for wear and fetched... More
