Visited mid-week alone and spent 3hours without realising As a tourist I was enthralled by the paintings of the old Newcastle ... windmills over the Tyne indeed ! Significant it turned out when we did the escorted town tour. Great exhibits and wonderful art works....More

This is a small gallery, but with a good selection of interesting art. I went for a special Paul Nash exhibition which was superb. Has a spacious nice cafe. Would have got more stars if the parking was not £10 for 3 hours in the...More

Went for a day out to see some old pictures of the North East and also the crafts that were made in the area as well - she particularly enjoyed the wood carvings and prints.

We travelled from Sheffield for the weekend. I saw this place online and had high hopes.. roughly in there 20 minutes. They had a few nice pieces, however local art shops unfortunately had more interesting pieces.

I love to visit the Laing, it is such a peaceful place to sit and contemplate the wonderful artwork. It's centrally located and near other great places such as the Great North Museum and Newcastle Library.

A few good painting, and free entry, but not worth the time. Big canvases by local artists, who funds this? My wife spotted a tea pot described as a cup and saucer in one exhibit, pointed this out to a member of staff who said...More
