Travelling across on the little NT ferry we expected a day of bird watching on a shingle spit amongst some old army and Air Force buildings. Instead we discovered a landscape that had been totally turned over to military use in the 20th century, that...More

I have wanted to visit this place for some time and I thought it was truly amazing. The buildings are fantastic and the NT volunteers very helpful. My only disappointment was not being able to gain access to the 'Pagodas' as this was what I...More

Fabulous National Trust site with interesting historical bomb testing and ballistics history. Lovely walk along Orford beach to the lighthouse. Beware it is a long walk around the whole site for young children or anyone with difficulties doing 6-7km. It is very exposed as a...More

We spent a lovely few hours here - would have spent longer had I have been more prepared! I didn't realise it would take so long to explore everything on the island, if I had known I would have packed a backpack with supplies as...More
