Well organised walking trails- great for dogs and older children

Came here to do the UFO trail walk and was very impressed at how organised the trail was. Lots of signs pointing out the correct way to go. Great climbing frame for the kids and... read more

These forests were very close and would have been perfect for dog walking but there had been cases of SCI for dogs and warning signs at all entrances, so sadly we were unable to walk there.

This is a Forestry Commission managed forest, and in parts you will find signs of that such as felling and planting. There are some signed 'trails' and many unsigned tracks suitable for people and dogs. You will also find cyclists mainly on the marked trails and horse riders, so the place caters for many visitor types. Even in summer it... More

We have yet to find a Forestry commisioned forest that does not live up to our expectations and Rendalsham is no exception. It seems to cater for all from lone walkers, people with dogs to families with children with small bikes and even has a bike park that the youngsters can have a go at. With various of routes to... I've gone for many walks through the forest from Rendlesham to the woodland walk shown in the picture. Dogs must be watched in the summer as adders and deer about. Fun for bird watching too.

I came here in my campervan to stay with some friends who also have a van and we stayed at the Forest Camp Site. Really pleasant people and clean amenities. The forest is stunning and worth going on the trails. We went on the UFO trail, be mindful on this one if you have small children as it is quite... More

There are 3 different length walks you can take them on, there are cycle ways, picnic tables and large areas to play football or... More

Lovely walk along the UFO trail, shame that ignorant people felt that they had to deface the model UFO, the leaflet explained the happenings along the way and the rest is left your imagination.

Found by accident and a real find! The Centre has an information kiosk and mobile café. The forest is well maintained and there are marked trails to follow including the UFO trail. There are 3 outdoor adventure play areas also.
