The National Heritage Centre is situated in the remains of Charles II’s sporting palace and stables, and spans five acres in the heart of Newmarket. It comprises three complementary attractions; the new National Horseracing Museum, a National Art Gallery of British Sporting Art, and a chance to meet former racehorses, in the flagship yard of Retraining of Racehorses.

Very interesting. I didn’t really know much about horse racing in England and found this to be very informative. Volunteer staff very friendly and took time to answer all questions. Museum is set up so you learn so much.

We were there on a Thursday, in term time. It was not crowded and I don't imagine it is ever unpleasantly so. There is plenty of room, both inside and out. The restaurant however is very popular with local people as well... More

Hi there, there is a lot to see and do, so we would recommend around 3-4 hours, the demonstrations are at 11am and 2,30pm so it might be worth planning your visit around those. We hope you enjoy your visst
