Kentwell Hall is a beautiful moated red brick Tudor Manor House in the historic village of Long Melford, Suffolk. Whilst not a stately home, this 'little great house' remains a lived-in and much-loved family home; something it has been for over 500 years. Surrounded by timbered outbuildings, tranquil gardens and a large estate, Kentwell is popular for family days out, weddings, filming and functions and is noted for its special events programme including living history re-creations and the award-winning Scaresville experience.

If you like really good ghost trains and haunted houses, this is even better. They've put a lot of effort into different themes and areas - it's not often a clown with a chainsaw follows you across a field.

We have just spent the day at Kentwell Hall on one of their themed week-ends - Elizabethan Michaelmas. It was absolutely fantastic and really great value (just £12-15 pp). We were particularly impressed with the 100 or so people who were enacting the event, they...More

Much better than we expected, very well-kept grounds with plenty to do. We spent 3hrs here without going into the house and our pre-schooler loved it. Cafe is also excellent.
