About
The UK’s No.1 Tropical Aqua Park is based in the Heart of the Midlands. Waterworld is an epic adventure for the whole family to enjoy. A great day out in Staffordshire. Prepare yourself for our breath taking white knuckle rides. Experience 375 feet of ups and downs in a single raft. Race family and friends with exciting twists and turns. Descent into our plunge pools or just relax in our Bubble Pools. Jump and ride the waves in our beach effect wave pool or dare you brave the dark cave of our rapids ride with family and friends. In late 2019, we wanted our loyal guests to be the first to know our gigantic new wave system had been installed. This complements our four brand new super thrill rides in Tornado Alley, featuring Thunderbolt, Cyclone, Hurricane and Stormchaser. The tallest, fastest water slides in the UK… Ride them if you dare! We have a large restaurant, which offers a full range of freshly prepared meals, including halal, gluten-free, and nut free choices.

- HellsBells280571Leigh, United Kingdom39 contributionsMixed bag - awful food, extortionate locker price! Some great slides, but DO NOT EAT HERE! Queued for over an hour and then the food was awful. The pizza was dried up, with tasteless tomato paste and gloomy cheese. Fries had loads of green bits on. Milkshake was watery and weak. Service was badly organized, lots of staff and very little actual serving, all was overpriced. Extras for car parking and a ridiculous £7.50 for lockers, which you then had to queue up for at the end to get £5 back, so still a bit steep at £2.50 for locker. Only good points were the tornado slide and the fact that you could stay as long as you wanted.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2023
- JoRae82Strathaven, United Kingdom7 contributionsBrilliant day!We had an amazing time! Got a deal on Groupon for 2 adults and 2 kids (8 & 5). We arrived just before 12 with no time limit. We had to pay £3.50 for parking and £7.50 for a locker (£5 refundable deposit by cash). We went on every slide except from the Thunderbolt as it wasn't working. Stayed for about 3 hours but we didn't have any food. Would defo return in the future.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 September 2023
- WHBScotland, United Kingdom283 contributionsOk fun but expensiveExpensive but fun afternoon. They charge for car parking and £2.50 for lockers ad well as £20ish entrance. There was no toilet paper in the cafe loo, whilst we were there 2 people were sick / one into the pool and a member of staff into a corner.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 September 2023
- ShadowfaxShropshire, United Kingdom34 contributionsIt is what you make it :)Good day out (I’m surprised after some of the reviews on here) me and my boyfriend went and we are late 20’s. We love water parks and wanted a bit of fun on a Sunday afternoon. Park was busy but not over busy, we were there 3.5 hours and did all of the slides amongst chilling in the wave pool and lazy river. We only waited 5 minutes max for the slides or to collect the rings before hand. We didn’t eat mostly due to the reviews and just ate before we came, rather grab something from a shop outside than an overpriced pizza slice. There is however a subway adjoined to the reception area. Granted the park is more aimed at families, however saw couples and groups of friends having fun too. Some areas look a little tired but all in all, a fun afternoon.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 September 2023
- Jenna MLiverpool, United Kingdom23 contributionsBirthday partyWe had a great family day out, we booked a birthday party for 6 children and they all had a good time. Party bags had good amount of different toys and activities in them and host was friendly. We also got a group photo at the end which was nice to remember the day. The centre was clean and wasn’t too over crowded. Adults enjoyed the slides more than the children! The food was ok, good amount for all of the children, I thought it was good that it was a buffet style so different food options were shared. I would go back in future.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023
- Claire F3 contributionsGreat for older children and familiesVery pricey and busy but still had a great here. It was a nice treat for our little girl before starting back at school. Sadly one of the big slides was closed but the others were great. Wouldn’t recommend for families with younger children but our 9 year old daughter was able to go on everything. Glad we didn’t take our 4yo as he would have been too small and one of us would have had to wait around with him while the other queued for slides with our older child. Enjoyed a subway after too, very convenient!Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023
- Neil E2 contributionsWill return during quieter times.Great place, lots of water activities to keep everyone entertained. Food court was good with plenty of options for the little ones. We went during the school holidays so we expected it to be busy, but we really underestimated just how busy it would be and how long queues would be. Will definitely go back but never again during a school holiday.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023

Wow what an improvement the investment has made to the waterpark. Myself and my 2 children ages 11 and 13 arrived on Saturday 29th August at around 9.40 as we knew it would be busy and we had booked the 10am slot. We paid our £3.50 to park the car (you need cash) and joined a small queue. By 10am this queue had got big however so glad we arrived earlier. Lockers are free but you pay a £5 deposit per locker at check in on reception. Checkin was painless and just showed our ticket from our mobile phone on the email. The new flumes were amazing and we headed straight to them and rode them several times whilst it was quiet and got some good rides in. We then did the other rides and got all those in. Then noticed the wave pool and wow what an improvement that is compared to before the waves are so much better now. We then went on lazy river and went I’m in the outside pool for a short while. After this we went back and did some repeat rides on the new flumes but the queues had got bigger by this point as to be expected. We left just before our 3 hour time slot ended to avoid a mass gathering in the changing rooms and had lunch in the subway sandwich place next door. Overall we had a great time and will be back staff were very friendly and good at explaining where stuff was when asked. The investment made with the new wave machine and the new flumes has made this one of the best water parks in the UK in my opinion and well worth the £20pp we paid. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely amazing day! Needed somewhere to break up a long drive from Manchester to clacton on sea for the start of our break this was perfect stop in stoke.
I researched lots of waterparks and Waterworld came up, I was looking for somewhere clean especially during 'Covid' times and also somewhere that would entertain all 3 kids aged 4, 9 & 14. This place from the start set expectations high queued from 10am short weight hand sanitisers at the entrance, then had our temperatures checked with a high tech looking machine i must say! We got a family ticket but as the 4 year old was under 110cm I asked if I could do a family ticket for 4 and pay her separately as a little cheaper this was no problem at all.
Inside the changing rooms were huge, really clean 1 locker was big enough for 5 persons clothes , one way system in place to enter. Once in it was really warm it mention 30 degrees on website which I didn't think it would be however it was, just what you need when you going off and on slides as you don't want to be cold while waiting. Water was very clean, loads of rubber rings. Loads of different slides suited to all ages just amazing cyclone being our favourite.
We even tried the outdoor pool however a little chilly for us as outside temp was only 21 degrees.
Overall kids had an amazing time cant believe I haven't come across this water park before will definitely re vist.

I took 3 girls aged 9, 10 and 11 on a Sunday for my daughters Birthday. We managed to park comfortably and there are machines to pay after your swim inside the building. There was no que which was great and we paid a £5 deposit for a locker which is returned on exiting. I was spectating in the comfortable cafe area and used the guest wifi to do some work and had a coffee. The girls had an amazing time and loved the new rides only returning to me to get a drink. The changing and pool areas are constantly at a warm comfortable temperature. I found the cafe and pool area to be very clean and staff were continuously cleaning the tables and around the pool area. There is a good selection of hot and cold foods. I was asked to wear footwear protection while in the cafe which I thought was a good idea to prevent the spread of anything on people's shoes around the pool/cafe area. My daughter had 2 nosebleeds and the first aid and lifeguards were very attentive and confident in dealing with this and rapidly got a cleaner to the area. The showers after and changing rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall I was very impressed a good time had by all and we will be returning.

Dear BecDimarco,
Thank you for your lovely five star review and for choosing us as a destination to celebrate your daughters birthday. We are delighted to hear everybody had a good time!
We are glad to hear you made use of our spectating area and free WiFi and you were able to relax while doing some work while all members of your party tried all of our brilliant new rides in Tornado Alley.
Our staff work hard to ensure that the cleanliness is up to a good standard. We have a dedicated cleaning team who clean before, during and after opening times to ensure all areas are suitable for our guests.
Our lifeguards receive monthly training to ensure the first aid they administer to guests is to a high standard, this was clearly demonstrated. We hope your daughter was okay after and was able to enjoy the rest of her day.
We can't wait to see you again for another fun-filled day.
Kind Regards,
The Waterworld Customer Service Team.

Just returned from a great day out. I really don't recognize these.people saying a corona hotspot. If you follow the one way systems and leave a gap in the queues you can easily distance. Management have put clear and easy systems in place to follow.
I would advise booking on the 10am slot however as by 1pm the queues for the new rides were getting busy. Food expensive so advise wait for Subway after. Take coins for the car park meter you'll need 3.50.
Little ones will have a great time. I came here 5 years ago and have always found the staff a little rude however they must have invested in staff training as every lifeguard and attendant couldn't have been nicer to me and my son. Special mention to tall Matt handing out dinghys. He had a smile on his face all day despite having surely one of the most physically demanding and boring jobs.
Go early. Book in advance. Take 4 pound coins. You'll have a great time. The Cyclone is an amazing addition to the park. My 7 year old loved it.

A totally stressful, expensive, awful experience was had today at this place. The complex is constructed in a dingy industrial estate smelling of burgers. So I arrived with my family with pre booked tickets that cost nearly £100. We had reminders to be one metre apart (and 2 metres was what I was expecting).
Eventually we entered with perfunctory temperature checks into a overpopulated environment completely non compliant with social distancing. Many hundreds of people were rammed into this place and I spent more time queuing than going on rides. The poor staff spent most of their time blowing whistles in a vain attempt to make the poor patrons adhere to the poorly signposted one way system.
The experience would have been tolerable if it wasn’t so busy. It felt like a Corona Soup. Why the bother reopening a leisure experience and not try harder to make it safe? So there was tape on the floor saying about staying 2 metres apart and it was taped parallel at 50cm Intervals.
The whole place looks like it needs a coherent revamp design wise; as if you cram all of your local dingy leisure centres into one giant one.
Bad job.

It’s my first visit to Waterworld and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the slides. The queues weren’t unbearable so managed to get on most things in the time slot we were given although it did seem to be getting much busier towards the end (3pm ish). I do think you need more than 3 hours considering you’re paying £100+ for a family of 4 when you factor in food and other expenses. The food is above average compared to similar venues and the eat out to help out discount definitely cushioned the blow of the bill. Not sure I’d have paid £40 for what we ordered but it’s what you expect to pay at places like this.
Unfortunately social distancing is a big issue here. They do have a one way system and markings in the queues to encourage social distancing. The challenge they are not managing to overcome is getting visitors to follow the guidelines. Very few follow the one way system and practically no one followed any form of social distancing. Even in the queue outside people couldn’t stick to the markings measured out. If the family behind us would have got any I’d have been giving them a piggy back through the entrance. I did witness a lifeguard asking visitors to keep their distance in the queue for a slide but she might as well have spoken to a brick wall. When you get into the pool area it is far too busy to have any chance of adhering to social distancing. I saw a video posted by Waterworld on Facebook of a quiet pool area with hardly anyone there claiming it was 12 o’clock and stating they were trying to be as transparent as possible. I couldnt help but giggle as the video was clearly not taken at 12 o’clock. I was there and it was significantly busier than they were claiming at that time. I would be astonished if whoever is policing businesses to ensure they are following the guidelines didn’t shut them down if they were to pay a visit.
I’d say overall there is mixed blame here. You have a business that has been closed for months trying to recover whatever revenue they have lost. They have put some effort into encouraging social distancing however they are letting in far too many people to have a chance of correctly following the guidelines. You then have the general public, who from what I witnessed today have not watched the news in the last 6 months or clearly think they are invincible. Very little effort put in to social distance albeit quite difficult in the environment they were in!

Dont bother with this place in school holidays, 15 minutes to wait for a locker, 40 minutes for a rubber ring, then another 15 to 20 minutes for the slide. 1 hour queue for tornado which lasts for all of 10 seconds. I would love to know what the legal ratio of life guards/staff to customers is? Clearly waterworld are cashing in on the bad weather and school holidays as the place was bursting, add to that 15 minute wait for a changing room. 3 rides for 1 adult and 3 kids in 3 hours £71. A complete rip off. Clearly cashing in, they should limit the numbers. On more than 1 occasion i witnessed tempers flaring as people caught others pushing in. Most staff did nothing except the 1 guy at the super fast rapids which was good. Hats off to him. Id only allow my children back here if it was on a midweek school trip. An awful experience. Sorry.

Did the 10-1 slot, it was quiet for the first hour but got much busier so would recommend people get the earlier slots. Got on everything we wanted to with minimal queues, thought there were plenty of lifeguards and it’s well worth the £20 entrance. We got there for 9:30 and got straight in the queue waiting for them to open, which was a good move as by the time it opened at 10 the queues were huge.

I took my 3 boys aged 12,10 and 8. We booked online and prepaid for a wristband, online bookjng was very easy and intuative.
We were late for our "slot" due to an accident on the motorway, but were greated by a friendly security chap at the end of a queue, and ushered straight into reception, where we were told our time doesn't start until we go in the changing rooms, also picked up my wrist band preloaded with £30.
Finding a locker was easy, and locked with the wristband.
Inside was busy, but not overcrowded, although there were some queues for some of the attractions, nothing major maximum was 15-20mins.
We had snacks, paid for with the wristband, plenty of choice and very reasonably priced.
We had a great, safe time, and would definitely go again.

Amazing day! I took two 11 year old girls who were reluctant to leave at closing time - they enjoyed it so much. Big thanks to Sam for all his enthusiasm and taking the time to advise us about the thrilling new rides.
Staff were continuously cleaning the fronts of the lockers in the changing room and there was a one way system in place. There were plenty of hand sanitisers around. Very clean throughout. New Perspex screen in position to protect people waiting to collect the rubber rings. This was our third visit in recent years. Would recommend for a great day out.
Waterworld's participation in the Eat Out To Help Out (50% off) scheme is a great bonus!

We are hoping to visit here during a "peak period" (ie tomorrow!) and are travelling a long way to do so. I'm confused, however, by the "session control" described on their website - will we be paying the full amount of money to be kicked out after half the amount of time?
Written 31 August 2019
Yeah if it’s busy it’s 10am til 1.30 then 1.30 til 5.we went today won’t be bothering again. Dirty overcrowded the new slides the main one everyone wanted to go on apparently broke so that was out of use. 1 to 2 hour wait for the other slides stood in the freezing cold it clearly isn’t finished but they thought they’d just open it. A lot of people saying still looks like a building site.
Written 31 August 2019
Hi,
I visited here around a year ago and just wanted to know if it’s cleaned up at all or tidy now? As when we visited it was disgusting, the water was cloudy, was dirt and all sorts floating around in the water, kids eating food in the shallow area, changing rooms were absolutely vile dirty nappies everywhere.. and the outdoor poor looked like it had all of stokes rubbish in it.
As this is literally the only water park for hours & hours just wanted to know if they have upped there standards at all??
