We left our car in the car park beside Glastonbury Abbey and allowed time to see both the Abbey and Glastonbury Tor. We chose to walk from the Abbey to the Tor rather than wait for the shuttle bus. The climb to the top of the hill is tiring, but once there, the view of the country in 360º is... More

The Tor is a must see in Glastonbury and well worth the uphill walk. Look into its long history for a glimpse of England's past. Steps are well laid out and safe and the view is magnificent.

We visited almost by accident, as nearby friends suggested we should go there. Parking is generally available at the nearby RJ Draper factory at weekends if it's not too busy; you may have a bit of a walk in the high season. On the way to the Tor, you pass by Chalice Well, which is also worth a visit. Shortly... More

I took a gentle stroll up with my granddaughter everyone we met seemed happy, was it the vibe? We showed some of them how to wish at a wishing gate - don't tell your wish or it won't work. At the top the views are amazing.

The Tor is an imposing site from the surrounding area,, and does not get any less imposing as you drive towards it. We were going to park in town but our friendly Airbnb hosts said that if we go after 6pm we could park closer and there are no wardens. As we had been walking all day we didn't fancy... More

We caught the Tor bus £3 return ( be warned it stops running at lunch so we had to walk back into Glastonbury. You are dropped off at a field you have to walk across then up a lot, and I mean a lot of steps to reach the top but once there the views on a clear day are... More

Well worth the climb even if you only ever do it once. Heard that parking near the Tor was limited, so took the advice and parked in Glastonbury car park near the Abbey £4. Came out of the car park turned right and walked up the high street, it was signed posted "foot path to the Tor" it was just... More

There are two ways up the Tor, the steep way and the much easier way which has a tarmac path. They are at opposite ends to each other and the gentler slope is much easier to get too whilst the steep way involves quite a trek over open countryside which can get very muddy, so be warned. The tower at... More

Thought I was breathing my last at times, walking up that hill. Seriously unfit! But it was worth the effort for an amazing view across the Somerset Levels. Lots of people about, as well as sheep. Dogs running everywhere ( the sheep didn't seem bothered, hopefully the dogs don't prove a problem with them). People picnicking, meditating, playing games, playing... More
