A Walk in the Park

As you walk from the long stay car park in Charlotte Street along the Gravel Path to the Royal Crescent, stop by at the Georgian Garden which is the garden to one of the houses in the Circus and so gives you an insight into that time. It is 10 mins at most. We were there in Winter - the... More

We passed the Georgian Garden in Bath following a self-guided walking tour (Walkabout, map and guide to Bath), available from the tourist information centre. The walk was taking us en route to the ‘Royal Crescent’ along what looked like a wide back alley behind the houses in ‘the Circus’ and the Georgian garden is to the rear of one of... More

After visiting the Jane Austen place, I took a walk around Bath to view some of the places where she lived. After walking to The Circus and The Crescent, I walked back towards the city centre via Gravel Lane where I found this lovely gem of a garden open. Had a good look around and read the information there. If... More

An absolute joy to discover this reestablished Georgian garden laid out just off the gravel walk trodden by Jane Austen.

Not easy to find as it's off the beaten track; but once there it is a quiet haven, although there's not a lot to see. But it gives an idea of what the city's gardens looked like in the past.

Looking like a private back garden, this is tucked away on the walk up the hill to the Royal crescent. Not large, but peaceful, pleasant and free.

Took me a while to find until I realised it was like someone's back garden (it's attached to one of the houses approaching Royal Crescent). Nice to get an idea of the sort of garden which would have been behind the big houses. Very quiet but worth taking in if you are approaching Royal Crescent through Royal Victoria Park.

It was a nice and quiet walk enroute to the Royal Crescent. Somehow very peacful with few souls. But seriously nothing much to see.

Made this a stopping point between The Circle and The Crescent. A pleasant little garden and although not a great deal in flower in August, I'm sure earlier in the year it would have been a picture. Will visit again in mid-late Spring.
