A way to be at one with nature in the centre of the city. I pretty regularly run from Meadowhall to the city and whilst it could do with a bit of a tidy, it's very pretty and often I see kingfishers, swallows and trout....More

I don't usually walk this route, I run it, I used it for my marathon training and it was good scenery to a point, some parts are quite industrial and there are a couple of roads to cross. Some parts get a bit confusing regarding...More

Almost a secret beauty bordering an area of regeneration and one that tells a tale of historic industrialisation. The ducks make for a beautiful sight so the area could do with more benches. A few non-domineering restaurants along the river would be ideal

With a river running through the city I expected more. Disappointed. I was the only one walking and there was trash and weeds.

Love going along this route especially in the summer. Lots of wildlife, great mixture of urban and rural scenery. Shame about the Yahoos who throw their rubbish all over the canal

A nice steady walk from Sheffield to Rotherham centre. Mostly very quiet and peaceful. Not suitable for wheelchairs as you have some steps to negotiate. It's not all by the water as you have to cross some roads to get back to the water. Saw...More

We have been on Five Weirs Walk a few times now as a family on bikes. The route follows the river Don from Sheffield City Centre to Meadowhall ( although the very last section to Meadowhall has always been closed off ). This is the...More

Good and interesting walk. Some nice sections but it goes through some very dodgy areas don't go on your own! The paths are very muddy and you have to walk along some busy roads.
