Well worth visiting especially for the mottled block work. Church is over a thousand years old and has a very interesting history.

I couldn't imagine there could be a so old church in Reading. This church, since 979 AD, has been standing here as proof of our faith. Quite simple inside, welcoming everyone would to take a relaxing time for stay and pray.

upon entering through the double church doors is just how silent it is and the coolness of the parish....the vastness and hight of the roof will leave you gasping....the vaulted arches will make you wonder how they got the beams up so high...the floor covered...More

Went to Henley - on - Thames on a narrow boat saw Saint Mary The Virgin church it has a wonderful looking building a checker board look. Very nice church on the inside with leadlite windows and nice looking organ.

It's in the middle of town, and I needed a space out of the rain to be quite - Perfect! It's open in the day, and has a sense of peace about it. But you can also see that it's used, it's not a museum....More

St. Mary's Minster is the oldest of the three medieval churches of Reading town centre. There is a little Anglo-Saxon stonework, there is Norman stonework from Reading Abbey, other medieval and later features, A guide book is available.

Haven't been there for a Sunday service, but in 2016 they were opening it during the evening for prayers, for anyone who wanted to go in (and for the homeless who may need a cup of coffee, tee or a kind word). As another reviewer...More

Attended a classical evening which was amazing. The minister itself was stunning with beautiful and simple architecture. Very peaceful and welcoming location with plenty of space and easy access. You do need to park in the city centre to obtain access to the facility, beautiful...More
