Lovely on a sunny day

It's a lovely place to be on a sunny day. On Sundays, they have bands playing for free, which makes the environment very pleasant.

Located just a minute or so from Reading town, Forbury Gardens is a perfect place to spend a lunch hour, a quick 5-minute rest or a longer picnic. If you forget your picnic there is a place to get coffee, ice creams as well as other yummy treats. In the centre, there is a most impressive Maiwand Lion proudly guarding... More

Nothing better to visit this lovely garden if the sun is shinning. There a coffee/ice-cream facility and the benches are not enough if you plan to sit... Better to take a blanket and sit in the grass. The kids can play and run around enjoying the fresh air. During the week there are several professionals making the most of their... More

It is unusual to find a lion in Reading. Some research will reveal that the person responsible for this statue was also unfamiliar with how a lion proceeds.

I love how people seem to slow down in Forbury Gardens, the flowers are so pretty and well arranged ornamentally, the lion statue is so imposing, the band stand so pretty and lots of groups of people see to always be in a good mood there, the benches are invinting and you can sit there and have your lunch and... Pretty flower beds, historic fountain and next to the ruins of an abbey founded in 1121. Henry II was buried by the high altar, which is now beneath the adjacent car park of Reading Gaol, built in the 1840s. Events are sometimes held here. A lion statue stands here, erected to the soldiers of the Royal Berkshire Regiment who were... More

Relaxation after the purchase of Forbury Gardens, because there is cozy for the kids too, not just boring shopping in stores. It was a good idea Forbury Garden ice rink, which was not too big, but still enjoyed the kids.

Nice, clean open space for a picnic or relaxing in the park. There's also a small cafe kiosk in the summer, and sometimes an ice cream van as well. It's a 5 minute walk from the Oracle Shopping Centre so easily accessible, but is surprisingly quiet. It's also used for various cultural events during the year, such as a Bastille... More

Very expensive! The ice was not level!! The rides were over very quickly and if there are 2 of you that's £6.00 blown very quickly. Got banged in head from a round MDF board dangling at head height? Not so bad if the miserable stall owner had wrapped foam around it but I was looking out for the family and... More
