Payed a tenner to get a table here so I could watch an important football match that they had been advertising outside for the week prior, turned up and they weren’t showing it, asked to be seated somewhere where they could show it, which was sorted out, after 10 minutes of the match the game was switched off, upon asking a staff member if they could switch it back on I was rudely told they couldn’t, despite there being at least 8 screens in the pub and them advertising they would be showing it all week. Had to pay a tenner to watch it on my phone. The food I ordered turned up cold, and I didn’t get to use my £10 deposit until after my drinks had arrived. This pub is terribly run and the staff are incredibly rude. Pint of Carling for £4 what is that about?

This place is good for cheap drinks and a bit of fun. It is big inside and plenty of seating. It also has a good area outside. I would recommend if you want a place to drink with friends and a bit of a lively chin wag.

This was the first pub we visited in Oxford. Needless to say: It gave the poor town a pretty bad name. My wife ordered three dishes. A meat burger, a quinoa burger, mac n cheese for the two-year old and two pints of whatever local bitter they had on tap. They were out of quinoa so she had a mushroom burger instead. The only beer they had on tap was Estrella 👀. When the food came we got two burgers. The guy who took the order and repeated all three dishes had no recollection of it. We ordered it separately and ate our burgers and drank our disgusting Spanish lager in the meantime. After finishing we left asap. Today when we set out to enjoy the town, we really couldn't, since my wife got food poisoning. I will probably not go back to this place, and if I can get you to go someplace else, I would.

Aggressive security and managers
Oct 2017 • Friends
I went to have a drink at this pub a couple of days ago and overall had a pretty good evening while in the pub. It was a nice atmosphere and the bar staff were all lovely. However when it came to leaving the pub the security and one of the managers where very aggressive towards my friends. My friends walked out with a drink in their hand in a plastic cup, having no idea that this wasn’t allowed. Instead of the security and the managers kindly asking them to finish their drink inside, the security and managers got right into my friends faces and were very aggressive in telling them to finish their drinks. I found this completely unacceptable as we didn’t know and it was very unfair. My friend quickly finished his drink and one of the managers again got right up into his face for no apparent reason and when myself and my friend decided to walk away, he came running after us down the road shouting abuse. Although this was a very nice pub, I feel like my evening was ruined because of this incident and I will not be returning in a hurry!

Good pub experience (!!!)
Dec 2016 • Friends
We called in on a busy Friday night on the Cowley Road and had a more than satisfactory experience. Good prices, engaging and helpful staff, clean toilets even after a crowded evening in the pub and a more than pleasant atmosphere. Recommended. We'll be back!!

Terrible service

Turned up to watch the 'big' football game of the day which they advertised on their website, spoke to the barman upon arrival who confirmed that they would be showing this massive game. After asking a further 2 times the game was not put on. I then proceeded to have a ridiculous argument with the dismissive and rude manager who insisted the game was on while pointing at a TV that was clearly not showing it. The game was finally put on after 20 minutes by which time I had missed 3 goals, I then missed the forth goal while I was angrily recounting the ludicrous debacle to a friend. In short DO NOT GO HERE TO WATCH FOOTBALL.

(The big game was Nottingham Forest versus Barnsley so I am sure your will understand my anger....)

Had Enough of this place! Discusting

I have come a few times for simple breakfast or food hoping that its more organised but no. Each time they are very slow with orders or give burgers over cooked/dry like its been left for days. I ordered a banoffee sundae and they gave me whipped icecream and cheap dry chocolate sponge, i asked the waiter is this really banoffee sundae? After waiting 40 minutes for it and she said yeah with no question. Definitely wasn't, my friend ordered courgette chips which were cold and soggy looked like sick so we asked for another batch which came out worse. Food is just disgusting and waiters are slow, rude and clueless never going for food again! Drinks are over priced as well.

Very disappointed
Jul 2016 • Couples
We went there for a refreshing drink as this couple of days havr been very hot. We order 2 drinks one of them being a mojito. I guess that it is not a mojito but dirty lemon juice. It was impossible to drink... I would advise to change the way you make it or change the name of the drink. It had no mint, no sugar just ice and lime and a hint of some sort of alcohol. We found the same taste in the long island ice tea surprisingly.
