Visit Oxford a lot and used to find this pub very special in an amazin location overlooking the thames, boats and swans. It used to be wonderful with great specials but the last time we visited it was poor, understaffed with lots of dirty tables....More

I always shocked to see the number of tourists and locals who still frequent this pub, given the amount of great, cheaper pubs around oxford. I have never once been in here when it has not been completely rammed, making getting a seat next to...More

From J Boy of Derby This is a famous city centre pub, the beer is good, prices expensive but that is to be expected in such a touristy city steeped in history. Tables and chairs outside for the when the weather is good. On the...More

Visited over the bank holiday with family . Very busy with not many people buying drinks . But at their prices it's not surprising . £10 for a gin and tonic , appreciate it was a double , seemed expensive even by Oxford standards .

Hi there, I am vegetarian, and as I usual I ordered the "veggie" burger at this place. Thing is that this time they came up with a "stuff" that tasted like meat and looked like meat and apparently wasn't meat! Why anyone will order that!!...More

Bar staff seem to lack knowledge of the beer they serve. Ordered a Youngs Special and was told that the barrel was being changed. Fair enough but the bar staff suggested a 'golden' ale as a substitute when there were other much better choices. Settled...More

I like this pub, but I'm really unsure whether I was overcharged or the prices are extortionate. £21,95 for a g&t, vodka lime & soda and a pint of lager? To me this seems ridiculous. Staff looked down on us and tables were quite dirty....More

Absolutely - plenty of space & the staff make a real fuss of them. Dog water bowls & treats available from behind the bar when you order your drinks. Haven't come across a more dog friendly pub.
