I studied there for 4 years so of course I'm biased and going to tell you that you really should visit. Exeter is not as big or fancy as the grander colleges - like Christ Church or Magdalen - but the reality of student life is that a lot of people study in the small and mid-sized colleges, of which... Hello chief! I attend conference on Hydrology & Sanitation - with Cyril Malwesi plenty needed. But such beauties in Tolkien's college - Harry Potter would feel chummy here. Wonderful to see Radcliffe's Camera, the sighing bridge and Morse's library, just a hop to do. Also Broad Street and Turl - with Jesus's college and Welsh cakes opposite. I thank you.

J.R.R. Tolkien was an undergraduate and Philip Pullman based Jordan College on Exeter. Beautiful chapel with links to William Morris arts & craft movement. Fellows garden looked gorgeous in the Spring sunshine and has the best views of the Radcliffe Camera. Impressive dining hall. Visit gave a real flavour of Oxford college life.

Went on an organised tour with 'Bella' through the Visitors' Information Centre. Was very enjoyable although extremely cold. She took us into Exeter College during the tour and it was really interesting. Would recommend.

A wonderful college to wonder around. Still in use, and well reserved! Well worth the trip to Oxford.

Helpful porter, super garden with the promised view which lived up to expectation, and the bonus of catching an organ practice in the beautiful chapel.

The chapel at Exeter is stunning. There is a huge pre-raph tapestry and the chapel itself is beautifully ornate, replete with lovely carvings, gold leaf and a well adorned organ. The view from the mound onto the rad cam square is one of the finest in Oxford bar the view from St Marys Church.

This College is found on Turl Street and is a refreshingly perfect example of the smaller college having concentrated calm when compared to 'The House' and other large colleges. But above all, the 19thC Chapel, built in the French Gothic Style to a design by Gilbert Scott is breathtakingly beautiful - especially the stunning vaulting. Music here is to a... More

Exeter is one of the oldest college in Oxford. But we went here because we are a die hard fans of LOTR, thus we wanted to see where Tolkien once studied. Only went to the inner courtyard and took some pictures. it was very well cared and lovely. There's a tall and dark looking tower that stands out from the... More

Each college is jealous of its reputation and history. This one is a little special because of the many paintings of past prime ministers.
