I love the hexham abbey. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, yet not too intrusive. The window panes from the inside of the abbey are so beautiful its worth popping in just to gaze at them.

A nice abbey in a small town. If you visit the town it is worth having a look in the abbey. Overall, I would not make a special visit to the abbey unless you are particularly interested in churches and abbeys.

If you're in Hexham don't miss this. Pretty much in the town centre and amazingly it's free to enter. Steeped in history and some great photo opportunities. The staff are superb and very helpful.
