The grand hall has portraits of many men who were associated with Northamptonshire, like William Carey. The Court room was once used for a court & has cells below. The other rooms have fascinating murals of our shoe making history & the Council Chamber is...More
This building is amazing. We walked in off the street hoping for a glimpse and ended up exploring upstairs and down. The inside is opulent and gorgeous reflecting a time when Northampton was cashed up. Really worth a visit. Really nice to see a place...More
On Mondays, the galleries and museums are closed in Northampton. The 19th century Guildhall was the only place open. Worth a look inside, some nice interiors on the ground floor, but it won’t take you long to see this.
In the heart of Northampton this is an absolute treasure and jewel to the town's crown. A stunning building that warrants more than a passing glance.

This is the most loveliest building housing some gems of archetectuaral importance.

I'm sorry I know this won't help you but it might help someone else in a similar situation. Parking outside the Guildhall is on meter and at times difficult to come across. Best to drop people off if you're not going in with them and park elsewhere. There's no coffee shop at the Guildhall but there is a place to sit on the comfy sofas and high quality bathrooms if you need to wait.
