always worth a visit when there is an event on....support local trading in Northampton. A good variety and as Althorp is limited opening is always a good opportunity to visit.

Visited this place few months ago with some guests from India.The house has a large grounds. The house tour was not well guided . The highlight was the Oval- Diane's resting place.

The Spencer family estate is a vast, serene spot. Deer and pheasants are roaming the estate while a literary event was going on. The grounds are well-kept and the final resting area of Princess Di on the island is a peaceful area on the property....More

No, you cannot cross the lake. You may sit on a bench and view the island from the grounds
