Attending Choral Evensong at York Minster on a Monday evening was truly memorable. It surely is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in England.

A pricetag of GBP 10,- was too steep for me, it's a pity, but hey, there's modern times for you. I've been there before, in '81 and did some brassrubbing there. Now, I just walked around the thing.....

If you are around check if the Minster has an Evening Song Service and if yes go 20mins before the service and you will get in free and naturally as you go in you are able to view the windows etc. The time I went we were put into the Choir Stalls as they do not always get many attending.... More

So I've been to York several times and only just now been inside the Minster! This place does not disappoint. You do not need to be religious to enjoy the beauty inside and out. Our guide Sarah was amazing. A wealth of knowledge with added humour, perfect. I recommend having a guide as things were pointed out that you will... More

Considering the age of the Minster, it is an incredible place of worship.I enjoyed the undercroft, with views of the first minster walls.

I didnt think i would be in the Minster long but 2 and a half hours later my legs were tired and I had not seen it all. I will need to go back but as your ticket is valid for 12 months next time will be free.

Fantastic place to visit, we were in awe of the Minster. The only let down was the expensive gift shop, you can buy most things in the gift shops in the city a lot cheaper.

Lovely minster with lots to see, even for our family who arent religious. The building is amazing and you ger kids can borrow an explorers pack with torch, binoculars, i-spy cards and sketch book. The undercroft is well worth a visit to look at the roman origins of the minster and the gift shop is good.
