After moving to York in September I visited Rowntree Park for the first time with my boyfriend acting as my tour guide. We decided to take a trip to the park as it was a nice sunny afternoon and i wanted to see somewhere new. It started off as a lovely afternoon/early evening, walking around the play grounds designed for... More

I have a slight obsession with Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles so I can admit that when I heard that this park exists I was hoping for a sweets based experience. Sadly there was no Fruit Pastille tree. In all seriousness, this park is very large and based on the river so it also has great views. A nice walk is through... More

I went to Rowntrees park for first time in years the other week with my girlfriend and it's a nice park. There's a decent sized play area for the kids with the usual equipment you'd expect to find there plus one of those climbing spider web things. Plenty of open space for you to play your ball game or what... More

Great park with lots for everyone. There's a good children's play area, a nice woodland area which my toddler loved playing in, a great cafe and gardens to look at. Well worth a visit.

Great place to bring the kids as it has a lovely play park. Nice for a wander round and lots going on in the summer. And the book cafe is great, for coffee and a cake. A real treat.

I never tire of walking around this peaceful park. It is my favourite in York. The cafe there is very good too.

I have lived near York for many years now and had no idea Rowntree Park existed. A really good walk with my 3 boys across the Millenium Bridge and around the entire park. Real quality time and the park is well maintained with lots of people and cyclists enjoying the place. I really wish I had known about this before... More
