The tour starts at 7.30pm from Whale Bone Arch on the West Cliff, touring the streets and ginnels of Whitby. Led by Dr Crank, you're treated to various ghostly tales and myths...all entertaining and interesting. For a fiver per adult you can't go wrong. Very enjoyable way to spend an hour or so just walking and listening. However, wrap up... More

This is a great little walk. It's only about two miles. The two routes take you: 1. Leave Whitby Marina car park and follow the track between the river Esk and the railway line. If lucky you might see one of the North Yorks Moors Railway steam trains (we did at Ruswarp crossing). Have a pint in the Bridge Inn.... More

A great walk on Saturday night with Dr Crank. A largish group of around 30, very mixed ages. A fantastic way to see the lesser visited West Cliff and hear lots of spooky stories from Whitby' past. Thoroughly enjoyable

My husband and I saw a sign for Dr Cranks ghost walk earlier in the day and decided to go that night. That evening was the most terrible weather the wind was so strong and hail was pelting down. By 7.30 my husband and I were the only ones there, Dr Crank asked us if we were sure we wanted... More

Saw the sign earlier in the day and me and my husband decided to go back at 7.30 for the ghost walk as an alternative Saturday night activity...and we were very pleased we did! Dr Crank is fantastically knowledgeable and his personality brings something extra including lots of humour. It was fab to hear about some of the ghostly goings... More

Just finished a ghost walk with Dr Crank and must say it was fantastic. The weather was atrocious. Hailing so hard it hurt my head! But luckily as the walk started it stopped and there were only 2 of us waiting with Crank. He asked if we were still wanting to do the walk (we did) and off we went.... More

Just got back from one of Dr. Crank's walks and we've had a brilliant time. Having missed the Dracula walk last night, I was pleased to see another one for tonight. The walk itself was a great mix of spooky stories and cheeky comedy. The guy is a natural born story teller and we also picked up a bit of... More

We went on the ghost walk on Saturday night and our guide was Claire. We went to the whale bones at 7:30 as instructed not really knowing what to expect but were very intrigued. Claire was dressed the part and we liked her instantly - we were part of a large group but she spoke well to the crowd and... More

Turn up at the Whale Bones at 7.30 - (check website) for an hour in the company of the mysterious Dr Crank - who will entertain you with stories of Whitby's past and strange going on's - great fun made all the more enjoyable as the Saturday night was damp, wet and dark around the alley's and back streets of... My husband, 12-year old son, sister-in-law and I went on this walk last night - and what a fantastic time we had. Dr Krank is a true raconteur who draws in his audience and truly leaves you wanting more at the end of the tour. The stories were incredibly interesting and entertaining. If you are visiting Whitby then you really... More
