This city-centre theatre is known for its quirky, offbeat and brilliant shows, and its ever popular bar. A firm favourite across Norwich, the Playhouse brings big-name comedians, fantastic Fringe productions, magnificent music, amazing drama, great family shows, and so much more to the region. The intimate auditorium has just been refurbished, and is even more comfortable than before.

Been here, so many times. What a great venue. This time, Simon Evans. Great again. Seen loads of gigs here, all good. It’s a lovely theatre and a nice bar. Never seen the beers they sell anywhere else but they taste ok. So, good venue,...More

Intimate, but somehow spacious too - the seats are graduated in a way that even the tallest person in front doesn’t obscure your view. The stage is not too high either which adds to the atmosphere. Fantastic bar for pre-show drinks. Toilet facilities good, and...More

Obviously, the quality of the shows is likely to vary, but the theatre has comfortable seats and is quite small so you have a great view o the stage wherever you sit. We saw the 'Little Shop of Horrors' which is great fun despite very...More

I've been here several times for comedy gigs, most recently to see Phill Jupitus in December '17. The bar is always busy here, but the service is quick in getting served. Despite the number of patrons, the atmosphere is incredibly relaxed. The foyer to the...More

The theatre was a great experience for me. The show (Paul Zerdin: All Mouth) was an amazing puppet show with some great puppets. The assistant Phil Butler was great and funny as well.
