This is a small church and cell but well worth a visit. Julian of Norwich was incarcerated here by her own will. She experienced visions and was a mystic. The shrine has such a spiritual atmosphere.

This is my third or fourth visit to St Julian's, and the adjacent Julian Centre. Julian of Norwich was a most interesting woman and her writings are of great relevance to us today. To sit quietly in the shrine and feel the love of God...More

I travelled to Norwich by train from London to see this simple shrine to and experience the serenity I've felt in St Julian's writings and had a lovely, peaceful afternoon. The little chapel is very quaint and there is a feeling one gets just sitting...More

Reading about St Julian and others like her (yes, her) who became hermits (more or less) hundreds of years ago is a real eye-opener. We had the benefit of a lovely lady who came down the hill from the Visitor's Centre and talked to our...More

We came across St Julian's Church by chance and how glad we were. Small but most welcoming with plenty of information and history, all in a great state of repair. The adjoining cell gives a sense of inner peace as we lit a candle. So...More

This had a calm atmosphere. There's not a lot to see but you can just sit in the rebuilt chapel and reflect on an extraordinary life. There's a religious bookshop attached.

It is a very small church and a small room where Julian of Norwich lived. This is a very peaceful place not far from the city centre.

We visited St Julian's Shrine without knowing about the history of the place and felt quite emotional when we went inside. The place radiates tranquility and peacefulness. We enjoyed finding out about the Shrine and the life of St Julian.

Despite being a little bit far from the city centre, it is worth it. There it is where the first British woman writer decided to live and give advice to those who asked for it.

1 Try and learn to ask a question properly and politely, eg Can you tell me what the opening times are, please? or Do you know what the opening times are? 2 It's a church. I don't know exactly but I would hazard a guess at... More
