Most people walk past this with their eyes on the Clock Tower or Parliament. It’s an impressive building though and has its own history that’s worth looking into. It sits on top of the Cabinet War Rooms as well.

On a recent visit to London we took a walk along Whitehall to partake in the Armistice Day service. As Whitehall was closed to traffic we were able to freely walk around. HM Treasury is located next to the cabinet war rooms. It is not...More

Frequented by businessmen in suits, who take an opportunity to munch down their lunch on the stairs, the most impressive detail was the Queen Victoria statue at the front

The HM Treasury is located next to the cabinet war rooms and next to the foreign office in Westminster close to The Houses of Parliament and Parliament Square. The best underground station is Westminster station.

Her Majesty's Treasury (HM Treasury) sometimes referred to as The Exchequer is at 1, Horse Guards Road. Entry is restricted and it is only open to visitors once a year on its open day.

Lovely building with great architecture on the route to Westminster Abbey, access was restricted by security and iron railings. Worth a glance as you stroll by.

We visited on open house weekend, I understand that the architecture may be of some interest to some but I found it cold and boring!

If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a
grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to
start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster
Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square,
and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham
Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just
up the road as well. As captivating as the
architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are
