Come and hear how the capital survived the Black Death of 1349 and the Great Plague of 1665 in the company of some humorous, historical characters. Walk starts outside Tower Hill tube on Saturdays at 2pm. Pre-booking is recommended at least 2 hours before we start to reserve your places. Pay on arrival (10 pounds full price and 9 pounds concessions) and prepare for a bloody good time!

Joined this walk as I had an idea that us was going to deliver a different angle to walks I have been on recently. I wasn’t disappointed as the guides were very informative but throughly entertaining. They kept everyone engaged & their minds concentrated on...More

This 2 hour tour is brilliant. My 10 year old son had been studying the plague at school and this bought the story to life. You get to visit various locations and hear about plague pits and fantastic cures. There are lots of surprises along...More

It’s two hours of interesting yet morbidly entertaining chat from historical experts. Walking around this less visited area of London you get a real sense of the squalor and filth that led to some of London’s darkest history. Informative yet funny and visual this walk...More

Joined this walk with friends on a sunny April afternoon and enjoyed every minute of it. The 'guides', Jonathan (aka Alfie) and Marianne, have developed a fascinating and absorbing narrative which they present in a highly professional and entertaining way. The route took us into...More

Alfie and Mary Anne provide a wonderful two hours of historical information and entertainment seeing parts of London that would not ordinarily be seen. Could not recommend his more highly, wonderful insights. Also saw things in a very different light.

Uniquely wonderful historical walking tour with the kids (7 and 11) to round off half-term, if only history lessons were quite this entertaining. I get the feeling that what Mariane doesn’t know about the plagues of London isn’t worth knowing and somehow the way she...More

This tour is not only unique, educational, and entertaining, it is also extremely well-executed in a very creative way. We learned so much about both rounds of plague (did you know there were 2?) and about the general history of the city. Highly recommend.

I've done the Tales of Plague tour twice now, and the second time was just as brilliant as the first. It's really informative, and Jonathan and Marianne make history come alive! Compared to other tours I've done, it's very reasonably priced - a great way...More
