The area
Neighbourhood: Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.

Online order cancelled due to paper work not matching up, re order still hasn't been processed 5 days later.
Jan 2020
I ordered a blazer online from Hackett, I live in Australia and was told it would take about 5 business days to arrive.

10 days past and nothing. When i checked up on my order i found that it had been returned by DHL to Spain. Due to it not having the right paper work attached to it.

I stated this to Hackett's online service and when they finally got back to me (4 days later) they said the money had be refunded to my account. They said that it had been a mistake and if i was to reorder the item i wouldn't have any other issues.

So i re ordered, and its been 7 days and my order still hasn't been "processed" yet the money has been taken.

Im not sure if the team at Hackett is completely useless, or just lazy.

I see that Mr Porter will soon be stocking your brand, why i have no idea.

Worst tailor experience
Aug 2018
Bought a suit and when getting it tailored they just pinned a small amount and then said they’d just speak with the tailor rather than pinning the rest of he jacket (even though I asked them to pin it). When I collected the suit it looked fine from the front. However, when I got home I saw how badly tailored the back of the suit was (inconsistent fit - as if they have just pinched the middle). I took it back to see if they could sort it out and show the issue. However, I was patronised and told that this the correct fit a suit should be.

The suit itself is nice but I would never again use the tailor at Hackett. My recommendation is if you buy a suit, then take it take a different tailor.

Terrible staff
May 2017 • Friends
Today we went to Bicester village for the first time it was a pleasant sunny day.
The shop keepers were very present except in Hackett the shop keeper tried her best to be unpleasant.
I asked if she can help me find my size she said that I can look myself.
I opened one to see if it fits me or not she was rude and told me if I am not buying I should not unfold any item.
When I was paying she asked me for my id and passport even though I had my PIN number.
I am over weight and it was obvious that she did not like me because of that, I hope she understand that I wish my weight is normal and I can lose weight I do not need her to make me feel so bad.

Great

I was told I look "shabby", so I've lost a bit of weight and been splashing out recently on new kit.
I like Tommy Hilfiger jeans but they have changed the denim and they aren't so good, so I got some from Gant and some from Hackett. Both are good, but while I was in the Hackett shop in Regents St London the pretty assistant flattered me into some chinos and a shirt too. Both were brilliant and so I returned for another shirt, but they didn't have the one I wanted. They checked on their computer and found that the shop on Sloane Street had two, do I went there and got what I was after, and a very good cardigan too.
The staff in Hackett are always very smart and formally dressed. I like that a lot. There isn't any loud rock playing. I love that.
The clothes are not cheap but the quality is high. I like Gant too, but Hackett is my default brand now.

Bought a coat, high quality
Jan 2016 • Solo
Important to note, I'm from the US and typically wear jeans and a button down shirt to work. I walked into the store in a sweater, jeans, and tennis shoes and didn't feel ignored or short-changed due to my dress as I did in other locations (this is pretty dressed down for the Mayfair area). I was totally unfamiliar with the brand but the quality looked nice while window shopping. After looking around for a while in the store I asked about coats (they love their thigh length men's coats in London) and was directed upstairs. I was immediately helped by a very well dressed and energetic salesman from Spain and even though I wasn't dressed nearly as well and displayed a total lack of knowledge regarding nice clothes he was very accommodating and helpful. I guess I presumed arrogance from how nice the employees looked, I shouldn't have as it was totally the opposite.
It's a good thing he was high energy, as 2-3 other customers came upstairs and he had to juggle all of us as he was the only person working this section (only reason for 4 stars). I was patient and so was he, allowing me to try on 3-4 coats and 2 of them twice. I ended up buying a coat that cost 650 pounds, by far the most expensive piece of clothing I've ever bought (there were much cheaper, and much more expensive, options). He explained the Italian wool and it's high quality, care methods, and he carefully groomed the coat before turning it over. I felt pretty good, as though I'd made a long term investment. The coat is very comfortable, I've worn it every day since. I don't regret my purchase and i actually look rather dashing now (my words, wife might use others) with some slacks and nice shoes on a cold day.
When I return to London I will definitely shop here again.

Nice English Clothing Brnad
Sep 2015 • Friends
Hackett is a solid English brand that makes quite nice clothes. Not quite upscale haute couture designer, but a very solid, elegant and reasonably priced collection of clothes. Definitely worth visiting - great ties, nice shirts & suits - for women & men. Thumbs up!

Upscale Clothing
Jan 2015 • Couples
The excellent rating is based on the quality of clothing we found in here, both women's and men's. The service here was sorely lacking, and I suspect that since I wasn't dressed like a "proper Englishman", I was given no attention whatsoever. It is a beautiful store, pricey for sure, but the quality of the clothing was unarguably first rate.

used to be great, now aweful

I bought an off the peg Hackett tweed jacket about 20 years ago. It fitted perfectly and, as I have worn it almost every day since, it was obviously very good cloth and well made.

When it finally died, I naturally went back to Hackett on Sloane Street. This time, as they didn't have an off the peg jacket that I liked, I asked their tailoring department to make me a new jacket, as close to the old one as possible. They charged me £600 for this, which seems a lot, but I figured that if it lasts for another 20 years, it will be a good investment.

It didn't fit when I first went to collect it, (not a problem, this is to be expected) and so I went back twice to have it re-adjusted. Each time I was told a series of excuses, such as ; that was the way jackets were worn these days; no-one wears a jumper under a jacket! It does fit sir, you are wrong!

Unfortunately, it still doesn't fit and I am tired of being made to feel stupid by arrogant and rude sales staff, so I will just have to write it off to experience.

I now own an expensive jacket that I never wear. I will NEVER be shopping at Hacketts again.
