Been a regular at the Almeida for almost twenty years, so it's long past time to review this marvellous theatre. Haven't missed many productions over the years and been disappointed by remarkably few. The theatre space itself is small and intimate, creating a real feeling of involvement for the audience. The bar area is a delight. Always buzzing and so... More

So looking forward to seeing this but spoilt as could barely hear what the cast saying, I'm not deaf, also lots of elderly people there, who when at interval, lots commentated that were missing half the story. Have been here several times and not come across this before.

The Almeida Theatre is a little unusual as it is nowhere near the West End but it is a lovely little theatre! I was amazed to see that the theatre was selling tickets for Hamlet starring Andrew Scott and Juliet Stevenson for only £10! The play was fantastic and I feel lucky to have seen such a fantastic production at... More

I caught the number 4 bus from Waterloo Station, which I then stepped off within a few minutes walk of the theatre. I joined the queue to try my luck with day tickets (it was around 11.15am on a Thursday morning) After a few moments the Box Office informed us that all day tickets had now gone, but we could... I went to see Andrew Scott in Hamlet here and have previously seen American Psycho both of which were excellent productions and very impressed with the stage design and use of the space! We had seats in the circle which are described as restricted view but were not restricted only a part of the state underneath out of view but... More

Always count on the Almeida for a quality performance with innovative staging. Saw Hamlet yesterday and did not disappoint. Seating advice - stick to the left hand side of the stalls if you want to make a swift exit, gets a bit blocked up trying to leave.

This jewel of a theatre presented me with a really great day out. From the delicious food in the cafe bar, to the really friendly staff it all helped to form a great opinion which was amplified by a wonderfully moving performance on this wonderful round stage. If you get a chance to catch Mary Stuart before the end of... More

My Mum and I went to see Mary Stuart, the most powerful performance in an amazing theatre setting. Will definitely be going back. Lovely ambience, great cafe and superb performance.

Went to a matinee of Mary Stuart. This theatre is easy to get to, accessible, nice little cafe and helpful staff. Seats do get a bit uncomfortable if a long performance but if, as on this occasion, the performance was stellar and riveting then seats not so important.

Have visited this small theatre quite a few times in the last 10 years. Every performance is excellent and due to the stellar performances you also get the celebrity spot! Beware you need to book well in advance and the tickets can be Like star dust. The bar is fantastic to meet friends before the play and it offers good... More
