Excellent typical, Chicago blues bar

Lovely if you like blues, never heard a bad band there. Bar gets very busy with very little seating area. Get there early if you want a seat. I/we love this place.

Dodgy looking guy standing outside deciding by the way you look whether to charge you £5 to go in. He claimed I was a few minutes late when my friends inside insisted they paid no entrance fee. Tourist trap. Avoid.

Hi, I am the Manager & dodgy looking person on the door. We have a door charge after 8.30pm. Your friends arrived before then, hence they did not have to pay. Just because you came later you think its unfair for you to pay. I'm afraid its always people who can't get what they want, who complain. We advertise the... More

It is a gem in central London. The live music is simply amazing. The place is quite small, so you need to be there on a weekend around 20:00 if you do not want to stay in a queue.

Queued for 25mins to get into this bar tonight, paid £10, was so packed that we couldn't even get past the front door to even get to the bar let alone further into the bar, walked out immediately and asked for our money back due to it being way too overcrowded. Told by the attitude doormen "we've clicked you in... More

I was actually working on the door that night. We control our numbers, using a clicker system. We charge an entrance fee after 8.30pm. You decide if you want to pay and come in. In is not a case of 'we will come in, see if we like it, if not ask for our money back.' You entered straight after... More

The music, the live bands, and decorations take you to a very good atmosphere, prices are a bit high, but nothing irrational. Went there first time back in 2007.. 10 years after no disappointments at all..

I visited this bar on Valentine's Day. It was small but cosy. The live bands are very close to the audience which is great as you feel at one with them. jimmy C and the Blues Dragons were the second act on and took us through to 1:00am. A great band with a saxophonist to boot. Got me singing the... More

This little blues bar is bustling with life and energy. With live blues every night of the week (free entrance week nights and £5 at weekends) there is a great atmosphere and is so busy. We went on a Wednesday night and saw two great music acts, one of whom was a musician friend- who we happened to stumble upon.... More

Great blues bar just off bustling Kingly Street, in the heart of Carnaby. Small, intimate, with fantastic blues/jazz artists playing live. A really great place for pre or post dinner drinks, I would probably recommend pre as it gets absolutely rammed later on. It’s no Ronnie Scotts but there is a bizarrely familiar feel to it, even if you have... More

Visited yesterday for the jam, which was really nice. It was fairly crowded, and you do get thrown about a bit, but the music was very enjoyable. The lady who served me was miserable, but I guess it is stuffy in there! Also bring cash, as there is a charge for card payments. Not the best blues bar in London... More

Went here for lunch with friends. Excellent food and service, very busy but staff were pleasant and attentive. Plenty of choice for food and drink and reasonably priced.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
