Wonderful tourist resource - you can buy tickets for shows and events here, you can exchange currency here (at a very decent rate), you can pick up maps and brochures, and you can talk to the very helpful staff - and ask questions. I was so impressed - and I wished I had found this place at the start of... More

I thought I knew London, having grown up in the UK, but, when my Spanish friends came to visit over the Christmas Holidays, I was very grateful to come across the Information Centre to help plan their visit to London. Taking them in, we were looked after by an assistant called Joao, who provided a whole range of ideas for... More

I took an excellent, great value walking tour-- "Dickens in the City"-- through this center near St. Paul's. 90 minute tour for only £7! They offer a variety of tours; staff is helpful & also sold me stamps (much faster than queueing at the Post Office!)

My friends and I were in London for 10 days, primarily to attend Wimbledon, but to sightsee for 7 days. We stopped by this place, just across the street from St. Paul's, for information on day trips from London, walking tours of the city, and theatre tickets. We met with Inma Ferrer who was most helpful in all areas. She... More

They were great and let us use their WiFi to book a hotel last minute. They even let us use their phone as a contact number because we couldn't use ours. Wonderful!

This unique modern building is opposite the South side of St Pauls, and parellel to the rather useful Cafe Rouge, across the road from it. It is always well-stocked, with a variety of leaflets mainly for events for London (check the City Church Service and Concerts list) and the Guildhall events listings; however, they also stock some information for other... We only had a few days to visit and were unsure of what to visit. This is a great starting point. They have maps and brochures and can explain the underground, buses, taxis, etc. There wasn't a question they couldn't answer thoroughly and helped us find the best VALUE for our money. They have connections to all sorts of tours,... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
