The neighborhood is lively with nice restaurants, and walking along the canal can be nice. But when I visited last time in summer the canal was completely covered with a thick carpet of bright green algae, bejeweled with trash.

This question has got me beaten! Malcesine is on Lake Garda and a very nice town too. However no hotel is mentioned and why is it posted on the Regents Canal page?
