Overview
More
Since 1864, there has been a theatre under the arches at Charing Cross Station. Known throughout the years by several names (Gattis-in-The-Arches, The Players Theatre and the New Players Theatre), the theatre was rechristened the Charing Cross Theatre in January, 2011 to mark the change in its ownership and the new era on which it was embarking. Although the Music Hall tradition is still honoured with periodic Sunday performances, the Charing Cross Theatre has operated as a legitimate commercial venue since 2002. The current management is committed to presenting affordable theatrical productions of the highest standards, while maintaining a collaborative atmosphere where seasoned professionals can work with emerging young talent

I had never visited this theatre until last Friday. Three of us were lucky enough to get tickets to see Yank! before it ended its run here. We decided to book a table and have dinner at the theatre first. Well, great choice we made!...More

The staff make this place. The bar staff were also at the auditorium door, so they are always busy. Very polite, smiling, great service. Nice auditorium, roomy seats. Wine isn't great, but you're not coming for the drinks.. Please accept American Express!

The theatre is lovely and we saw a great show (Yank), however (and I only noticed this some days later) on buying a round of drinks at the bar which cost £13.30, there had been a gratuity of £3.00 (!!) added on. Admittedly I should...More

I have seen a number of excellent, fantastic shows at Charing Cross Theatre. It's a wonderful, intimate theatre with great staff, excellent seating, lovely leg-room. It's always a pleasure to visit, although not living in London, our visits aren't as frequent as we'd like. My...More

My husband and I went to see Yank, with our twenty-year-old son, who is just coming out. We all absolutely loved this great new musical. The story follows a young American soldier in WW2 and his experiences falling in love with another man. We were...More

Lighting hiccup on night reminds you this is a live show and was well handled. Given the heat, as with many London venues it's not got the best air con but it's a great venue - intimate but not intimidating. Great bar area, central to...More

It's always magic stepping out of the bright sunshine of a London summer evening into a cute theatre like this one under Charing Cross station. It was an excellent venue for "The Braille Legacy" but this production was of such quality that, when its run...More

I am extremely disappointed with this establishment. I used to be more than a regular customer. I had been to the piano bar at least twice per month and in the last year I threw my own birthday party there. This evening for no reason...More

With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized
lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is
not just considered the heart of this bustling London

esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as
well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most
