Visited Hampstead with my husband whilst on a short break to London on Sunday 16th October for a walk on the heath. Decided to eat Sunday lunch at this pub as there was a variety of meats available and the price looked good. We both opted for the beef, and, on the plate, it looked OK. However, mine was so... I visited this pub for the first time since the mid 1990s. It's fallen into a total state of disrepair. There were holes in the floorboards and the whole pub looked worn and grubby. It was also very chilly inside. When sitting down at one of the tables I attempted to plug my iPhone into the socket but none of... More

Staff rude, no manners & decided against food after having to chase 2 packets of crisps we had paid for 20 minutes earlier with no apology. Reading most of the other reviews this sums it up - if you want good customer service and a friendly atmosphere avoid this pub as they could not care aless. Very disappointing & we... More

I took refreshment here on my recent yearly visit to Hampstead, but wished I had read others' reviews first as my meal was not particularly good and the service was somewhat erratic. It may be that I am fussy or that they had a bad day, and I wouldn't want to put anyone off going here as there's nothing wrong... More

Fast, efficient service but food virtually cold (apart from the veg) and lamb too tough to eat. Never eating a Sunday roast there again. Left half of it!

This venue was an iconic pub in the 90s with people traveling from afar to enjoy the vibe Now it has fallen into utter disrepair with not one iota of cool Moving on from being a gay venue to a gay friendly place has not done the king bill any favours DONT eat here as the menu promises a lust... Dropped in to watch the England France 6 Nations game. Enjoyed amazing food, great choice of wine and a warm welcome. They turned up the TV and made sure we had all we needed to enjoy the afternoon. Pub was filled with a good mix of French and English - couldn't ask for more

Had lunch here today. Miserable staff and food microwaved until it was too hot to eat. Fantastic building but ruined by awful staff and awful food. Never again.

Nice location for a few drinks and lunch with friends on Saturday afternoon however the service at the bar was awful. Our waiter clearly demotivated by the atmosphere of the other bar tender was ok, enthusiastic but certainly not setting the heather alight. The order for food at the bar was met with no smile, abrupt, no manners (not a... More
