Neighbourhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

Amazing markets! So many good food places. We had the seafood paella which was beautiful followed by a salt beef sandwich. The best part was the crumble from Humble Crumble, the best crumble we have ever eaten! Would 100% recommend

Unfortunately we just came about this market while wondering around the area and we had already eaten. There were so many food stalls like fish and chips/german desserts/gelato/cheeses and so much more. I would have loved to have been able to try something it all looked so diverse and delicious. I say it would be a great spot to stop for lunch or just a snack.

Very crowded during lunch time. Hard to walk through and there are long lines. Lots of variety of foods available with both hot and fresh options.

Hmm. Well it was very empty, unfortunately the area didn’t smell good at all. The food stalls themselves looked good however we were very put off but the smell of ‘rubbish’ so much that we didn’t even stop for a quick bite. Upsetting as it looked a ‘vibe’

Went for a stroll round here whilst working near the market. There’s lots of stalls selling lunches and various fresh foods can be bought and taken home. It’s a nice market, but of a tourist trap, but definitely worth a visit

Interesting enough market but not really worth the hype. Lots of nicely presented stalls but much of it seems somewhat overpriced.

Don’t eat before you go, such great food including best oysters we have ever had (plus you can get champagne and cocktails at the stand never door!) Such a fun outing on a Saturday morning, quick and easy to get to via London bridge station. Well worth making time to visit. Wish we were
Staying longer in London as we
Would have bought lots of cheese, meats and olives etc, but had to fly out a few hours later.

While London Bridge is closest, we went to the Monument station and walked across the bridge. The monument station is a few minutes further walk, but is serviced by more tube lines than London Bridge.

Hi pre covid I attended the market and there was a place which did champagne breakfasts. Is this place still open and are they rebook or rock up on the day? If this place isn’t there anymore can someone recommend somewhere for breakfast. Thank you

If you mean Bedales of Borough (I googled to find this) you can google them and ask about their champagne breakfast. Enjoy!

I’m a bit confused. Is this open on sundays? Was planning to go tomorrow but I can’t figure out if it’s open or not.

No . Actually they open all days except sunday & i’m not sure about saturday. Even when the market is open every day, some booths open only for certain days, so you have to ask each one about their days
Is the market open on 3rd January pls?
