My daughters and I attended the evening performance of A Woman in Black on March 15, 2017. The show, laced with humor and suspense, was enjoyable with entertaining performances by the two main actors. The comfortable theater is small and elegant without a bad seat in the house. I purchased the reasonably priced tickets on-line a week before the performance.... More

My wife and I visited Fortune Theatre to watch The Woman in Black. You will struggle to sit as the seats are too tiny and not a lot of leg space. Avoid the front row seats at the dress circle as you will walk out with numb legs! I am not particularly tall but average built and I struggled.

This was my first experience of watching a play at the theatre and I loved it. The performance was enthralling. You really do have to use your imagination as there are little props/visual effects but the acting is so convincing I found myself drawn in and hooked from the start. I know this classic ghost story well which I feel... More

The fortune theatre is a beautiful little theatre, intimate and interesting but beware there is quite limited leg room when seated! Our visit on 13.04.17 commenced with a search of our bags. Understandable in the times we live in although it was very apparent the men in black had no idea what they were looking for. I was somewhat dismayed... More

only 2 actors, well 3 if you count the WIB. scenery was terrible, seriously underfunded production. Give it a miss. Spend more on a ticket to a real west end show.

WOW What a great production, hadn't seen the film so could only base the anticipation on word of mouth, which was generally described as a scary nerve jangling play. It lived up to expectations and was in parts scary. Brilliant cast lovely old theatre, very intimate a thoroughly enjoyable experience, would recommend the play to everyone as a must see.

Sat in the stalls-good leg room. Old style theatre. Scenery limited-2 actors and the Woman in Black. Impressive memories in order to remember lines. Few jumpy/scary parts. Drinks expensive.

I saw WOMAN IN BLACK when I was a student 20+ years ago and thought that after this long I would both remember the plot and not be scared – surely a middle aged man couldn’t be cowering like a schoolboy behind the sofa like he used to with Dr Who???…... WRONG! Got seats in front row, and we were... More
