The area
Neighbourhood: City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

Really nice
Dec 2014 • Friends
It is a really nice place. If its a good day you should go and visit it. that open area full of historical buildings is really nice. you can sit around it and enjoy the view. there are lots of cafes and restaurants around there but just chilling in the sun is ideal. the best place for a relaxing afternoon coffee.

Tower Hill Enactment
Jul 2012 • Solo
It isn't a pageant as such but a historical enactment, enacted. Everybody is shut in to watch how they fought all those years ago. In Tower Hill itself a giftshop was the only escape route for myself as exits had been shut!! I wasn't amused. Historic and perhaps educational. If you are foreign and would like a trip to UK , this is perhaps of interest. At time of my visit, entry was £17.00 Sterling money (09) could be about £25.00 now. Hotels are all over London with adjacent tubes to get you all over London. London Underground is daunting at first, but really even I find it very easy to use.
