This is an interesting area for the Architecture of the buildings that surround the shops that are open in the Kensington The costs of the goods in the shops Is quite high due tho the area but the area promotes this cost and quality Have a search around the area before you but to get the best value for money

Much like my neighbourhood, Kensington is probably a okay place to live. It does have Holland Park and boarders on Hyde Park which are great on their own. Along with these parks, it also has the Kensington High Street. All these are covered on their own, in other areas of TripAdvisor. For someone not from Britain, the architecture (even of... More

You will find any nationalities in kensington - from Arabs to Asian - Zamabian to Uraguayan - but whatever their nationality they are probably a little wealthy as this is quite an expensive place to live and stay. Pretty mansion blocks and whitewashed terraced townhouses sit side by side with designer shops .

Some lovely consistent architecture, nice planting and generally clean, peaceful and well-maintained properties. The more modern areas are well-integrated.

It's a nice location to walk around and have a nose in some estate agents' windows. There's clearly some nice houses and streets in easy walking distance of some of the great locations in London.

We enjoyed our walk and afternoon tea time in this neighborhood. It has a good safe walk and some stores and coffee shops.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
