Charing Cross Road has always been synonymous with bookshops both new and old as well as specific bookshops and also is a gateway into Covent Garden/The Strand/Londons Theatreland as well as other areas all within walking distance - there are a number of shops here as well in addition to restaurants from McDonald's to top end restaurants so whatever takes... Carving its way through many places of interest in the West end of London including Soho,Shaftesbury Avenue(theatreland) and Leicester Square is this busy bustling road. Many bookshops frequent, however it is a pleasure to wander with places to eat and drink dotted around too....you can walk from Oxford Street to the Strand in about 15 minutes.

This is a very busy street that has many bookshops here although not quite as many that there were a number of years ago but still enough to show that the area is unique for books with the speciality books Day and night this road is busy but great fun as well

Charing Cross road stretches from Trafalgar square going east towards Strand and is a very busy road due to this east - west connection, also because of the train station and further tube stations with their connections all over London. On the street level, there are lots of offices, theatres, shops, restaurants, bars etc - anything goes.

Bustling, buzzing, full of vavavoom, character, shops, Restaurants, cafes, bars and many more. So much to do and see. Lately i have been spending a lot of time in London, and all for the best because it has improved my social life and cycle. Spent some time with colleagues for Xmas party around Charing Cross

Charing Cross Road is one of my favourite roads for walking in London. It's always buzzing with interesting characters and has great shops and restaurants on either side. You can't really visit the iconic sites of London and not go through it

Charing Cross Rd as it is currently is a real rich mix. Part section of antiquated bookshops, part access to Soho and Covent Garden it harbours old and accommodates new within the same stretch of sidewalk/pavement. Walking from Trafalgar Square, to the left, there is access to The West End, via Chinatown, and to the right interesting bookshops, plus a... More

Every time I go to London, I go to Charing Cross Road, to the bookshops there, to rummage among the old books and find treasures. My favourite is Any Amount Of Books. This time, I found the complete bound collection of Punch magazines of 1931. I am very pleased with myself.

Covent Garden
Whether you're headed here to check out the multitude of shops, theaters, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, or simply to be among the multitude of people who pass through this pretty part of town, you'll love soaking up the festive and historic atmosphere in and around Covent Garden. Even if you don't have tickets to the opera or a show at one of the many famous theaters here, don't be surprised if find yourself captivated by some impromptu act of a street performer wowing the crowds in Covent Garden's Piazza. If you do have tickets, you'll be pleased to note that many of the local eateries accommodate theatergoers with prix fixe menus, early dinners, and later than usual opening hours.
