Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. It is also one of London’s most iconic and visited tourist attractions.

Over the years, it has been the scene of over 150,000 performances; from Wagner to Sinatra, The Beatles to Beyonce, Muhammad Ali to Adele, and is home to the celebrated BBC Proms.

Whilst the venue is most famous for its shows by night, by day this treasured building is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and guided tours of the building.

Tip for tour ticket holders: Enjoy a 10% discount on items in the Hall’s gift shop and Cafe Bar.

The Royal Albert Hall is a great venue. Spacious, comfortable seats (many swivel a bit which is great). A number of options for food or drinks and quick service. Can't go wrong venue wise. Prebook parking and ignore the 'parking closed' sign if you've booked.

This is the forth event/concert weve seen and it goes from strength to strength. Weve sorted the travelling into town, parking and place to eat. The venue is a great auditorium compared to so many of the other concert venues, nice bars nice staff and all in all a very pleasent experience

This show was stunning and the setting being the Royal Albert Hall made it very special indeed. Seats in the stalls too close to the stage will give you a stiff neck as you will be looking up all the time. The performers were all excellent and extremely skilled in their art, a show I would try to see again.... More

I have been to the Royal Albert Hall several times to see rap bands to classical concerts, not too expensive, boxes a great treat, good parking in the evening and weekends in the surrounding streets.

I visited the Royal Albert Hall in November 2016 - and had the pleasure of watching the legendary Paul Simon in concert. This venue is simply awe inspiring. It is beautifully decorated and preserved. The staff are very professional but very friendly and helpful - all in uniform. The inside is warm but not overpowering. The concert hall in ENORMOUS!... More

If you like theatre, or royal history, or architecture, you should go... it has something for all three. Our enthusiastic tour guide Millie obviously loves her job and was a real treat, even when she was admonishing us not to sit on the chairs in the royal waiting room as they are 'only for royal bums.' Learned much about Prince... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
