Neighbourhood: Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.

Really interesting tour, made all the better by our guide Phil Mansfield. If you get the chance to tour the buildings (which are far more impressive in the flesh), I hope you're lucky enough to have Phil. One of the wittiest & knowledgeable guides I've come across.

A nice way to spend a few hours whilst in London . Booked for sisters 40th , she really enjoyed it . The headphone tour is a bit complicated for people who are not tech savvy but otherwise a good tour overall .
Brought a necklace as a gift from gift shop , it looked ok when I was shown it but when I took it out if the box at home the clasp was broken it wouldn’t shut !

We toured the Houses of Parliament with a walking tour. Well worth the price of the "beat the line" tickets. Our guide, Patrick had lots of information and stories to share with us.

A very interesting visit. Unfortunately, only self-guided audio tours are currently available. Would have been nicer with a real tour guide who could answer questions. Still great to see the inside of this gorgeous building and the differences between the houses of Lords and Commons. Tickets much be purchased in advance for a particular time. Sell out quickly.

Fascinating insight into the history of The Houses of Parliament made all the better by our tour guide Phil. Outstanding knowledge and great humour. The best two hours of a truly memorable Jubilee weekend.
Take a bow Phil, many thanks

The Houses of Parliament is absolutely gorgeous! It is breathtaking - the size alone is hard to grasp. You have to see it from a view on the London Eye to really see how HUGE it really is. Just beautiful!

Hi,
Are you allowed to bring a backpack into house of Parliament tour? Or is there a place we can leave our backpack during the tour?
Thank you.

Bonjour,
Il s'agit du palais royal et il est très difficile d'y trouver une chambre disponible, à moins de connaître la reine pour le moins ;)
Bon séjour...

I understand no photography is allowed, however is there an issue bringing a camera bag in? Should I leave that at the hotel?

I’m in London and just booked a tour online for tomorrow. I note in the emailed ticket it says it has to be printed up (I thought we were 21st century, seriously!).
I assume I can bring a copy of it on my phone to get in?
