One of the highlights of my trip to London, I really enjoyed walking through the House of Commons and Lords. The tour guide was lovely - funny and very knowledgeable. She covered a wide range of subjects - the history and meaning of paintings, what ceremonies are conducted in each room, etc. I can't stress enough how interesting this was,... More

First time visit and we chose the guided tour. You have to book in advance and get there a good 40 minutes before your time slot to get through security In a word. Excellent. We were shown around in a group of around 20 by the wonderful Jackie (or Jacqui??) who was professional, knowledgeable, and a fantastic guide. She explained... More

Great day spent wandering around this historic building. Plenty to see. Would recommend either an escorted visit and or Audio.

Went pre booked on a Saturday morning. Very reasonably priced. We had the video guide which was very informative. Well worth a visit.

Apart from some confusion about where to collect prebooked tickets the experience was well organised. Security was thorough (as expected) but moved quickly. The audio tour was interesting and you were able to enter all areas including the houses of lords and commons. Would recommend.

I have visited twice and thoroughly enjoyed myself both times. It's a really interesting tour and even if the teens pretend they're bored they are secretly enjoying it. It's really informative and interesting. I've dragged my Londoner born and bred boyfriend to all of the tourist venues and he voted this one the best.

We absolutely loved our guided tour in the Houses of Parliament!!! The rooms were probably the most stunning of any Parliament building we've seen in Europe, and we really enjoyed learning more about the way the government functions. Our guide, Jakob, was also fantastic. He was very entertaining, and so knowledgeable. We've recommended this to several friends planning trips to... More

Stunning architecture, history and ritual. If you call in on the spur of the moment you can visit the public gallery after clearing security. Great experience!

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit. As well as visiting the public galleries to watch a debate when the Houses are sitting, visitors can also take a guided tour or a self-guided audio tour. Tours are available when the Houses are not sitting on Saturdays and most weekdays during parliamentary recesses. More

This is a must see, if. Itching else then just to see the famous buildings. It was amazing to see. More than what I hoped for.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
