There can be no other theatre in the world which has two such distinct and diverse claims to fame as the Aldwych.During the period from 1925 until 1933 the theatre housed a series of farces by Ben Travers which have gone down in history as 'The Aldwych Farces'. They included such familiar titles as A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook, Thark, Plunder and A Cup of Kindness. Nearly 30 years later, on 15 December 1960, the Royal Shakespeare Company took over the Aldwych as its London base.During the next 21 years, prior to the company moving to its theatre in the Barbican, history was frequently made. The Aldwych is currently the residence for the Olivier & Tony award winning Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

We went to see La Soiree at the Aldwych. As always the staff were very friendly and go the extra mile to make your visit special. Amazing show and will go again. Very frivolous so keep an open mind. The performers were incredibly.

Nice venue. Nice show. This venue has refreshments and toilets. I had front row tickets. Eye opener to the story of Carole King.

We visited this theatre to see Beautiful- Carole King Story, and found that the staff were very helpful. The theatre itself is traditional and comfortable.

I was at the Aldwych Theater this past December, 2016. I didn't sit in the stalls but I believe that the seats are your average theater size seats. You might try calling the theater directly and asking them your question... More

Dress Circle is the one to go for. If you go to the Aldwych theatre web site, and search for access and facilities, you get the full run down including recommended seats for wheelchair users and poor mobility
