Genuine market

Lovely market managed by locals. It has its own identity and you can breathe Deptford area in the whole market. Great place to see if you are tired of the tourist London.

This market was very vibrant years ago . But now most of the shops are either food shop or nails. The market had nothing to offer like years past. The market has nothing much. Very dry

Can be good here but mainly rubbish. Once you get past the smell of rotten fish, meat and veg you can sometimes buy a bargin or two. You can never depend on who will be there but it's worth a try

Interesting market, well worth a visit. Litsa of great cafes and places to eat. Don't expect fancy surroundings but be delighted by the quality of food available.

This is a down market, market! It's very good. It's not far from Greenwich and as that is a great place to visit you might find it fun to drop off one stop on the train from Greenwich and be landed in the middle of Deptford High Street; the market is right there. The market is a good place to... More

Not many tourists make it down to Deptford and this is a shame as it has its fair share of history, Greenwich is just down the road and it's a slice of old-fashioned London, especially on the market days - Wednesday and Saturday. I say it's like old-fashioned London but it is also one of the most multicultural areas you... More

This market has been active for several decades and is a mix of stalls and shops varying from halal meat to beautifully gaudy haberdashers and old fashioned barbers. It's a market run by locals for locals and you can everything from a new pot to curtains to authentic Chinese noodles, plantains to pommelos. For a break from shopping have a... More

I am fortunate to be able to visit the market any time, wednesday and friday are half market with the full market being saturday, its a happy lively place with loads of 'cheeky chappies' Im often left suprised when away from Deptford at the amount of things I buy as 'everyday' products that I cant find-plaintain and casava for example,...
