My hotel was near Russell Square so I spent some lovely sunny afternoons just enjoying the green space. Lots of opportunity to people watch and enjoy a respite from the hustle and bustle of Central London.

5 mins from Russell Square underground station. Nice and peaceful, although you still hear the traffic. There is a park coffee shop in here too.

We sat here and ate our lunch that we had bought elsewhere. It is a little area that was nice and relaxing. People advised us that the cafes were fairly ordinary so take your own food.

Nice little park with a water feature in the middle along with benches and grass area for picnics etc. Not a very big park but a nice little green space to take a break from the hustle and bustle.

It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated

We were there July 22 and it was running fine! And the parents of the cute little girl (maybe 2 yrs) let us take a picture of her going 'round and 'round the fountain on her tiny scooter.
