Really great to drop into Covent Garden. Love the coffee shops in the old fruit Market...ad hoc 4 piece string bands are fun!

A number of units closed and sadly more and more are losing the origins of the market and becoming a tourist trap of expensive designer outlets

Covent Garden is a centre of gravity and energy. Always lots to do and see with street traders, markets and bars / restaurants.

Personally I think that if you have visited London more than once, Convent garden is a bit tiresome. Too many people, stores and noise. However, it is a must to see if it is your first time. Try to visit after lunch time around 3 or 4 pm to avoid the crowd (if it is ever possible) FREE to wander around.

Covent Garden is becoming the star of Central London, with Oxford Circus going downhill. There is a strong vibrant buzz around the area. There is a trendy shopping scene with a mix of known brands and independent traders. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants. There are also regular themed events and street entertainers. The main issue is the value for money that remains questionable. It has that tourist inflated price range that makes bargains hard to come by. However, you get a vibe with plenty of history and spots for entertainment. The theatres are worth visiting to catch a show. Overall if you do your research before you can have a great time no matter your budget.

Always worth calling in here on a London visit to soak up the atmosphere and see some performing art on the street. Loo's now cost £1 to pee, so cannot recommend that part.

H, it depends on the weather. The nicer the weather, the more performers you will see. Covent Gardens thrives and has a wonderful buzz when the weather is lovely.

We actually ate at the Opera House as that's where we were going that evening. Large and bright and plenty of choice, but not as strong on atmosphere maybe as many of the surrounding pubs and restaurants but they were all pretty full so the choice was decided for us!

We have a 10 hour layover at Heathrow coming up. If we want to visit Covent Garden how far is it from the Airport and how would we get there?

Piccadilly Eastbound line runs straight from Heathrow to Covent garden. £3 one way and approximately one hour. Hope that helps!

So me and 6 of us girls are coming to London to watch magic Mike at the hippodrome and I've taken the task to search for good bars/clubs for afterwards(Friday night show, finishes around 9pm). we want nice cocktail places but with room to dance/chat. But definitely later on a club or two to go and finish what hopefully will be a great night. We are early 30s with all kinds of taste of music. Pop, r and b. We are staying near kings cross so do we head back towards there or stay around covent garden. Many thanks. Hope I get a few suggestions
stay around convent garden or head back
