This is a quite nice part of London. We passed by, but did not stay. We had a quick look around and there are so many shops, boutiques and restaurants to visit! It's obviously not a cheap area to live in! Worth a visit.

South Kensington is very central and close to major museums and very, very busy. The France Lycee is here too but once you have seen the museums and the very commercial restaurants try to get lost in the beautiful little streets and wonder at the...More

Fine shops, great restaurants and of course the greatest museums in the world. It is one of the best areas to stay in London with children as it’s not just shops but has green space and things to do. Best museum for kids has to...More

South Kensington is home to the Victoria and Albert museum, science museum and Natural history museum. It's a striking area packed with large mansions and I think the French embassy, judging by the house with a huge French and EU flag and 2 armed soldiers....More

This is the area of London that I stayed in during my most recent visit to London. It was awash with people all the time and is a popular tourist destination as the V&A Museum and the Natural history museum is there. There are tons...More

A great place to visit. Nice museums and fantastic area to walk around in. Lovely houses and great transport links. Pop in and see the Science museum when you are here.

South Ken is a lovely area to wander around even if you take the great attractions out of it. Just a stone's throw from places like the Natural History Museum are quiet, leafy streets with lovely architecture. It is well connected by bus and train.

South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque
white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's
easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with
superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and
Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely
child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to
mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall)
such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming
