I found this disappointing in comparison to many palaces and aristocratic homes open to the public that I have visited. It appeared more like the corporate entertaining venue that it is now, than the site of a prestigious home. I could not fault the standard...More

You can book a group visit on Mondays. Our Blue Badge guide Rosalind was very knowledgeable and clearly loved her subject. The tour lasted well over 90 mins, we were not rushed and were able to ask as many questions as we went from room...More

I booked a place for a guided tour (Sundays only)and was very pleasantly rewarded with a knowledgeable entertaining lady guide. The group was about 12 in number, so not too large, and the tour lasted about an hour. If you want to see the garden...More

I went with a group; we were served coffee and biscuits by very smart waiters. There are not very many rooms, but our guide was most enthusiastic and knowledgable, especially about how all the restoration was carried out. For example, some of the fireplaces were...More

The challenge is to find the entry. Once inside of the house, you can expect a very warm and authentic welcome. You will get a guided tour with enough but not too much details and as such after 1 hour you will have a good...More

We went with a small group and had the most enthusiastic and informative guide - the tour was an hour and a half and she was clearly loving every minute of the tour - as did we. Booking is essential and the house and art-work...More

Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier

Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
