Far beneath the majesty and splendor of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protegee Christine Daae is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.

The musical opened at Her Majesty's Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 26th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, after more than 10,000 performances.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's mesmerizing score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life each night.

This was the first time we saw Phantom and it did not disappoint. Thoroughly enjoyable, we watched the film with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum earlier which enhanced the experience. Stage sets were amazing in quite a small and intimate theatre. We went last Thursday and were met by snow showers afterwards which was quite thrilling in itself.

Great show, definitely worth the extra money to get the seats closer to the stage. Amazing stage production with very talented actors. The sound and orchestra were brilliant. A must see if you like the theatre.

What can I say. The performance was breath taking. The emotion that was portrayed in this show was for lack of other words 'amazing' the actor 'Ben Forrester' out did himself and is an incredible asset to this performance. If you wish to see this show I highly recommend it. The performance gave me chills with how good it was... More

Went to see Phantpom at Her Majestys for our anniversary weekend. Was a good show. Story easy to follow. Some good dramatic scenes. Nice songs, a couple I remembered from a few years ago. All in all recommended.

Been wanting to see this show since junior high, and it exceeds my expectations! I saw the online version in the 25th anniversary, so I already know how it would look like on stage, but seeing it live is such a different feeling! The best musical indeed!

Staying in St. James's

Neighbourhood Profile
St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
