The location of Maida Vale was close enough to central London it was easy to get to for tourist stuff, but far enough away you didn't get the noise and price of London. Lovely little high street with restaurants bars and shops

Maida Vale is an affluent area with some fabulous houses and gardens on the tree lined avenues around Little Venice. This is the City of Westminster at it’s very best with added trees and gardens. It is very impressive, even the bridges are attractive.

Beautiful little neighborhood, central to the sites, and safe. Little Venice is a treasure. Great base for exploring London.

I stayed at the Marriott Maida Vale and loved it. You are walking distance from a laundry, the tube, three bus lines and most importantly a Tesco and Starbucks.

Heathrow or Gatwick are fairly equal. It's more about the easiest flight out of Lisboa. Regardless, taking the Healthrow Express to Paddington is the best. Or Gatwick also feeds into the tube system.
