A statue to represent a King who met a bad end. It is difficult to get to this statue and is not truely worth much else of a mention

Beautifully carved pedestal with Charles 1 standing upon it. One of the first statues you see in the center of London, I. Trafalgar Square.

This Renaissance style statue of Charles I on a horse faces down Whitehall towards his place of execution. Charing Cross is used to define the centre of London and a plaque by the statue indicates that road distances are measured from this point. The traffic...More

This statue is at the Trafalgar Square. Apparently it represents the point from which the distance from London to other cities is measured. The choice for this specific statue as a point has more to do with history rather than geometry. This is quite close...More

Since he was beheaded outside the Banqueting House in Whitehall you would think that that would be a more appropriate place for the statue to be situated than in Trafalgar Square.
