This is one of the most expensive places to live both in London and the World and a lot of the area is owned by the Duke of Westminster There are many exclusive hotels here in addition to Embassy's and luxurious private accommodation as well

First time knowingly in Mayfair, aside from monopoly. Stayed at Claridges and enjoyed the buildings, parks, squares, arcades and shops. Had some pleasant little walks. Handy for regents street. A lot of really nice buildings and expensive shops in this area. AMong others are the impressive Burlington Arcade - but don't remember the big wallet!

I was fortunate enough to stay near the edge of Mayfair on my recent visit to London in Jan. It remains one of my favourite parts of the city, although unfortunately it is too ridiculously expensive to ever realistically aspire to live here longer term....More
